    The Headlines:

     

    In the role of Finance Director Six Pints & Strategy working in Toronto,  you will be part of the Commercial Finance Team. You will be in the lead finance role at Six Pints Speciality Beer Company for Canada. 

     

    This leader will have full accountability for the Six Pints Financial Statements and be a key member of the Commercial Finance Leadership Team and the Six Pints Leadership Team. This role will work closely with the various MCC Finance teams.  It will be responsbile for the Financial Planning & Analysis for Six Pints and will play a key role to integrate Six Pints results into MCC’s consolidated financial statements.

     

    You will have 4 direct reports and lead a team of 15 people (including 4 indirects). The team is located in Ontario (Toronto & Creemore), Quebec and British Columbia.

     

    The scope of this role includes: Controllership & FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance and Strategy.

     

    It also includes oversight over the following Entities & Brands:

    • Rickard's Brand, Belgian Moon Brand, Lauganita's Brand
    • Creemore Brand (Brewery, Independent Distribution and Retail store)
    • Granville Brand (Brewery, Tap Room and Retail Store)
    • BDM (Brewery & Restaurant)
    • Batch (Brewery & Restaurant)
    • Trou du diable "TdD" (Brewery & Operations) + Manager Acquisition Business Case & Acc't
    • Future Investments, Strategic Initiatives, Acquisitions & Restaurant builds

     

    This position reports to the Vice President, Commercial Finance.

    Responsibilities

    The Responsibilities:

    1. Controllership & FP&A:
    • FP&A lead for Six pints responsible for the annual budget and long-range plan coordination and preparation, monthly forecasting process, preparation of variance analysis and explanation of key drivers of business performance and identification of risks/opportunities and corrective action plans, as well as communication of monthly performance to the senior leadership of the business
    • Lead for the ongoing development of Six Pints management reporting and forecasting processes, ensuring these are meeting the overall needs of the Business Unit and global FP&A team
    • Lead for consolidation of Six Pints into MCC books & all Financial Reporting to MCC & Six Pints Business Partners
    • Governance, process and controls within the financial statement close process of existing businesses (Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable etc)
    • Ownership of core processes & driving adherence to policies within Six Pints
    • Ensuring all audit management actions are closed and management remediation’s are sustainable
    • Sustainability of new Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP).
    • Developing processes for the integration of new businesses and restaurants
    • Developing processes and controls to ensure there is a strong control environment (includes: internal controls compliant with SOX requirements) of all business units
    • Lead finance analysis for integration of new business acquisitions
    • Governance, process and controls related to the integration of new businesses
    • Technical accounting guidance, assessment of the impact of new accounting standards, analysed and summarized in Accounting Research Memo documentation (where applicable)
    1. Supply Chain Finance:
    • Includes oversight and support of Six Pints Supply Chain Business Partners
    • Support of capital business cases
    • Support of capital budgeting process
    • Creation & analytical framework provided for a Six Pints standard cost catalogue
    • Supply Chain analytics
    • Supply Chain cost savings analytics and support
    • Analytics to support achievement of Dump Beer Targets
    • Implementation of Transfer Price Project Plan
    • Reviewing and supporting Supply Chain management reporting
    1. Commercial Finance:
    • Part of core team on key strategic agenda to Double Size of our Above Premium & Craft Portfolio
    • Financial leadership of all owned and managed brands (Rickards, Belgian Moon, Lagunitas, Creemore, Granville & BDM)
    • Six Pints Game Planning Review process, reporting and support for both managed and owned brands (implementation and sustainability)
    • Annual Operating Plan lead for Six Pints
    • Net Sales Revenue (NSR) analytics and support
    • Pricing strategy support
    • Marketing Spend Reporting & support
    • G&A Spend Reporting & support
    • Actual & Forecast Analysis & Reporting
    • Business Case and key project support
    • Marketing & Sales Business Partner support
    1. Strategic Finance support for all new business acquisitions and/or business ventures:
    • Develop ad hoc business cases to support business decisions
    • New Business Integration
    • Support for new acquisitions
    • MCC “START” Process Support
    • Other Critical Six Pints Initiatives Finance Support
    • IT support & in some cases financial leadership for projects (i.e. Orchestrated Beer)

    Qualifications

    The Other Qualifications:

     

    • 10-15 years of progressive finance experience, as well as 3-5 years of people leadership
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Economics with an accounting designation or MBA.
    • Financial Planning & Analysis experience an asset
    • Love challenges and completes complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.
    • Process & governance/controls orientated
    • Effectively prioritize based on business priorities and deliverables
    • Confident and competent. Diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business.

    • Deals with change, strong and energetic leadership skills to effectively lead new initiatives across the organization, set direction and drive for results.

    • Experience preferably within CPG in a finance business partnering role
    • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking capabilities
    • Self-starter, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, team player
    • Ability to effectively work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Ability to manage people/team that reside in different locations (from a far)
