    The Headlines:   


    In the role of Consumer Communications Specialist working in Toronto, you will be part of the Corporate Affairs team, while directly supporting the Marketing and Consumer Care teams. This is a 12 month contract role covering for a materntiy leave.  You will be responsible for social media care strategy and execution across Molson Coors Canada brands, which primarily includes management of moderation/consumer communications on social media channels. You will be point-contact and lead for Molson Coors’ social moderation agency (which includes briefing, day-to-day operations, escalation management, training, and other), will work with creative ad agencies and internal team on how to best communicate and respond to brand content on social media, and will identify themes and risks presented by consumers on social media that require brand or enterprise attention. You will also enforce digital and social media policies and guidelines according to best practices and legal regulations.


    This position reports to Manager of Brand Public Relations and works closely with cross-functional teams, such as Marketing, Digital Media, Program Development, Innovation, Consumer Care, and Molson Coors Brewing Company international colleagues.



    The Responsibilities:

    • Effectively equip social media moderation agency with key messages and best practices when responding to consumers on brand channels – requires development of messaging alongside cross-functional teams, overseeing agency work and providing feedback, sharing continued thought leadership on social care trends and expectations
    • Deliver training to social media moderation agency; training topics to include social moderation policies, Molson Coors best practices, brand tone, moderation tool utilization and optimization, best-in-class examples, and real-time/ad-hoc assistance overall
    • Maintain pulse on brand social media channels to identify any potential risks, spam, hateful/harmful content, crisis or other noteworthy/actionable content for the business; liaise with Legal, Corporate Affairs, and Marketing teams as necessary
    • Execute and build on existing social care strategy; ensure policies, guidelines, legal requirements, and strategic framework are being followed, while seeking continuous improvement to stay ahead
    • Brief and guide moderation agency through developing quarterly social care reports, and personally pull ad-hoc/campaign reports based on business needs; share data with internal stakeholders to influence future programs and improve consumer satisfaction with our brands
    • Assist Brand Public Relations Manager in planning and executing earned media and social media influencer campaigns for select brands   




    The Other Qualifications

    • Diploma or certificate in Public Relations is preferred
    • You have a comprehensive understanding of the evolving social media landscape, particularly around how consumers interact with brands online and what they expect in return
    • You have at least 3 years’ progressive experience in consumer care and community management through social media channels
    • You have experience working with social media moderation and reporting tools (preference towards experience with Spredfast)
    • You are an excellent communicator, which will be showcased through your development of consumer-facing key messages on social media, how you brief your moderation agency, how you distill and present data from the consumer’s voice on social media as actionable items for the business
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint as means of organizing and presenting data collected through social care to internal stakeholders
    • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities. You act with appropriate urgency to various market events and trends that require a quick turnaround in plans and strategy
    • You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business
    • You are deadly serious about results, and take pride in a proven track record in delivering
