The Headlines:

 

In the role of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems Specialist, you will be part of the Quality team working in the Toronto Brewery.  You will lead the brewery’s food safety initiatives with the goal of achieving BRC certification in 2019.

 

You will work cross-functionally with all departments in implementing and evolving the components of the BRC Food Safety Programme (HACCP, Internal Audit, Site Standards, Traceability, Recall, etc).

 

This position reports to the Quality Manager and works closely with all brewery departments.

Responsibilities

The Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation Food Safety Programme at the brewery; current and future.
  • Coordinate development and review of procedures to support Food Safety Programmes
  • Plan, Schedule and lead audits to ensure ongoing compliance to BRC, customer and legal standards.
  • Lead / facilitate teams in incident investigations using structured problem solving methodologies driving corrective actions to eliminate recurrence.
  • Train operators and team leaders on Food Safety requirements such as critical control points, GMP’s and hygiene, etc to drive overall food safety awareness.
  • Facilitate risk assessments with cross-functional teams to control risks as part of the change management process.
  • Assess process and system data and provide prioritized recommendations to improve performance and compliance.

Qualifications

The Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Scientific or Quality / Food Safety related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience in food and beverage / CPG industry with demonstrated success in progressive roles.
  • BRC or equivalent quality standard implementation experience
  • Proven skills to influence without authority
  • You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business
