The Headlines:


In the role of Brewing Engineering & Execution Lead working in Toronto or Montreal, you will be part of the Industrial Services & Support Team supporting the new greenfield project in the Montreal area. In this role you will be responsible to oversee and manage the Brewing work stream and have complete (end to end) accountability and management for all engineering and capital work streams within the brewing module for our new greenfield construction project.  This will include accountability for complete development and detailed engineering, construction / installation, commissioning, startup and final performance/technical sign-off on all packaging work streams.  In this role you will be accountable to maintain strict and effective adherence to all Molson Coors project processes (Brilliant Execution), Steerco, Project Updates, relevant Molson Coors Canada policies and project cost control which includes timely forecasting and reporting of LE's and adherence to financial controls. This position reports into the Director, Engineering and Execution.


The Responsibilities:

  • Full Accountability (end to end) for the brewing modules within the new greenfield brewery including engineering, construction and vertical startup (inclusive of interdependencies with other modules such as packaging, powerhouse, IT/MES and asset care).
  • Lead the project module from development stage, capital approval, detailed engineering, construction/installation, vertical start-up and performance sign-off, this includes support of the operational transition, early equipment management and operational readiness required to ensure a vertical start-up.
  • Responsible for the brewing project budget, including all budget cost control, LE forecasting (monthly, quarterly, annually), change order management, payment schedules and final payment sign-off.
  • Accountable for the brewing engineering and execution team for the new greenfield brewery.
  • Responsible for brewing team's delivery and compliance with the project schedule for the new greenfield brewery project schedule and milestones. This includes all direct and indirect project milestones related to the overall project schedule.
  • Full accountability of Brilliant Execution for Capital Project process including early equipment management that will deliver a vertical start-up. This includes working and influencing business partners (regionally and globally) to achieve joint success.
  • Participate in the vendor selection process: RFQ’s, contract negotiation and Equipment Supply Agreements (performance guarantees, brand mix, pricing, timelines, liquidated damages, etc.)
  • Address supplier issues directly with the OEM’s or with the Molson Coors Procurement team
  • Represent MCC and lead equipment FAT’s
  • Act as the Molson Coors point of contact during the vertical ramp-up process.

The Other Qualifications:


  • University Degree, P.Eng. or equivalent experience in brewing and beer processing engineering and design experience.
  • Experience with high speed beverage packaging engineering and execution project background
  • 8-15 years of experience in brewing and process engineering and/or operations with project execution and delivery experience.
  • You have experience in delivering highly interdependent and complex projects within the brewing environment with preferred experience in the new or upgrade brewery projects.
  • You have a solid understanding of brewery operational performance metrics, operating best practices and ways for working, packaging technology and process expertise, understanding of construction and equipment installation best practices, facilities design, permitting, construction and major site infrastructure.
  • You have a strong command of construction and project EH&S requirements,
  • You have excellent communication skills, demonstrated people management experience & skills, and effective techniques and experience for postivie conflict management.
  • You have major brewery capital project execution experience
