Role Overview:

As a member of the National Engineering Leadership Team, the Director, Engineering and CAPEX will have complete oversight and accountability for all supply chain capital projects from conception to post project review and the capital project portfolio governance for the Molson Coors Canada.

 

This will include all engineering and design activities in project concept, feasibility, development (including early equipment management, design quality, budget development, value engineering, business case and benefit development) through detailed engineering, execution and project closure (including final design package development, scope management, cost control, installation management, commissioning / vertical start-up, final sign-off on project completion and performance) while maintaining a culture of safety and brilliant execution. He/she will have full "end to end" accountability of capital projects within the breweries, distribution, innovation and strategic within Molson Coors Canada.

 

This role will also include the capital planning and governance function. He/she will also be accountable for managing and governing the National Capital Portfolio, including all capital expense items (feasibility & demolition spend) from a project, engineering content, budget allocation, and LRP submission standpoint. He/she will also be accountable for the development, governance, compliance to and continuous improvement of all supporting capital processes, systems or requirements (Capital Planning and Budget Management, BE4CP, Capital Project Stage Gate, Portfolio and Project A3 reporting, Capital Project Steerco, Engineering Road Map, Engineering Standards, Engineering Academy, PPM). He/she will manage a team of Senior Project Engineers, Manager(s), Subject Matter/Documentation Specialists, and/or Engineering Analyst(s) that will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the front end BE4CP process and ensuring that clear and effective governance procedures are set and adhered to nationally.   

 

He/she will oversee a national team comprised of Sr. Project Engineering (4), Project Engineers (2), Engineering Documentation Specialist (1), Engineering Specialist (1) and Major Project Managers (2 contract).

Responsibilities

What You Will Be Accountable For:

 

  • Full accountability for end to end capital project engineering (concept to post project review) for all the supply chain capital projects for Molson Coors Canada (brewery, distribution, innovation and strategic). This accountability includes delivering capital project performance and results (scope, timeline, budget, performance and safety)
  • Full accountability for the management and governance of the National Capital and Capital Expense (i.e. feasibility and demolition) Portfolio (i.e. Current Year Capital Plan, Long Range Capital Plan Development & Submission, Unplanned Governance Process, IVARA Approver for all Feasibility PREQs).
  • Accountable for the national and local engineering support for the breweries and distribution teams across Canada. He/she will directly or through his/her team provide technical support or operational troubleshooting that requires engineering support.
  • Full accountability for the development, governance, compliance to and continuous improvement of all supporting capital processes, systems or requirements (Capital Planning and Budget Management, BE4CP, Capital Project Stage Gate, Portfolio and Project A3 reporting, Capital Project Steerco, Engineering Road Map, Engineering Standards, Engineering Academy, PPM)
  • Responsible for the effective management of a team of National Senior Project Engineers, Manager(s), Local Project Engineers, Major Project Managers (contract), Subject Matter/Documentation Specialists and/or Engineering Analysts (Coaching, Mentoring, Performance Management, Career Development).

Qualifications

If You Have The Following…We Want To Hear From You!

  • University Degree, P.Eng.(MBA, PMP, PfMP preferred)
  • 12-15 years of experience in engineering management and capital projects.
  • Experience in development and exeuction of highly interdependent or complex projects within the manufacturing environment with preferred experience in the food, beverage and/or pharma industries.
  • Experience with project engineering / management best practices, construction management, manufacturing equipment installation, EH&S best practices, portolio management and industry best practices in engineering, design and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated and excellent communication, organization, facilitation and people management skills (either through direct or indirect reporting relationships).
  • Engineering management and major brewery capital project engineering or execution experience would be an asset
