The Headlines:


In the role of Channel Marketing Manager - Atlantic Retail working in Halifax you will be part of the Channel Development team. This position reports to, Senior Manager - Channel Development East Canada, and will work closely with the brand and program development teams in order to ensure seamless execution of all program activities for our customers.



 The Responsibilities:

Market / Customer Expertise:

  • Work with the Channel Development and Program Development teams nationally to gain an in depth understanding of what is important to independent retail and Key account customers when it comes to in store retail programming
  • Collaborate with Retail Key Account Managers, Market Manager and Program Development teams to help build, evaluate and shape trade and customer retail programs, customizing where appropriate, able and sensible.
  • Work closely with the KAM’s to develop exclusive programming, provide / update KAM on innovation details / presentations and manage all liquor board deadlines to ensure all deliverables are met
  • Through a First-Choice lens, build, support and manage relationships with ANBL, NSLC, PEILCC and NL Marketing Manager’s & Insights teams.
  • Gather and consolidate qualitative feedback from Sales Teams on the effectiveness of market-wide programs and initiatives
  • Develop and enhance market knowledge through regular field visits and interaction with Sales team, market managers and sales representatives.
  • Sampling/Point of Sale:
  • Work with external suppliers from ideation / creation through to distribution of POS / Merchandise solutions for above noted customers where required
  • Manage internal POS budget management / reconciliation and distribution list creation / management.
  • Build and create in market POS, signage and vouchers working with the MCC creative studio, legal and brand teams to deliver the appropriate marketplace tools for all four provinces.
  • Coordinate with S&E Coordinator and market manager, the management and delivery of regional sampling activities including execution, budget alignment and reconciliation.Innovation / Packaging:
  • Channel lead participation for select national innovation and program launches, representing interests / needs of the CD team with other functional stakeholders and ensuring consistent communication amongst all constituents.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders in the sales (KAM, Mkt Mgr.), Channel, Brand and Innovation functionalities to deliver flawless execution of product innovation including creation of customer and market retail sell sheets and delivery of product samples.
  • Manage communication and provide all required information / tools to the selling organization on packaging changes to ensure customer approvals

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or other relevant field;
  • You have a minimum of 5 years progressive experience, preferably multi-functional (Sales, Marketing)
  • You have superior communication and consulting skills
  • You have strong Negotiating skills
  • You are creative and an innovative thinker
  • You are preferably bilingual- English & French
  • You can build and sustain strong internal/external business relationships
